BTW: A fern ticket is the mythical permit to adventure on The Wrekin or in its magical forest. Couples spotted leaving a dance at the Forest Glen were asked. "Have you got your fern ticket?"

Wildlife Trust against development on Donkey Field
Dear all, I understand from my colleagues at the Trust that at last nights Little Wenlock Parish Council open meeting the Donkey Field planning application was discussed.

Word document: TWC-2012-0261
The position of the Trust on the planning application was sought. For your information I have attached our formal comments which we presented to Telford and Wrekin Council by the deadline last week, 25/4/12. I hope they will help you understand our response to the application. The next Wrekin Forest Partnership meeting is June and I am sure we can include an agenda item in this regard if members wish. I have also noted from the recent Telford Local Access Forum minutes and reportage from the meeting held above, that traffic calming measures have been decided upon at the junction at the base of the Wrekin. I am sure that Wrekin Forest Partnership members would appreciate more information on the proposed highway developments in this area. I hope by way of this email we can ask for information from the relevant TWC team to be shared with the other members, thanks. On other news myself and my colleague Matt, our new Telford Reserves officer are continuing to investigate the ground conditions at the newly cleared area at the bottom of the Forest Glen car park. We had discovered a sewage leak which is now being sorted, and a budget has been secured to complete the ground-works to make the area safe. The work here is part of a general effort by us to improve visitor information/experience to the Wrekin Forest and refresh some of the old signs. All for now, cheers Pete Lambert, Project Officer, Shropshire Wildlife Trust # Posted by Steve Hooker at 1/5/12; 5:22:10 PM
