Donkey field meeting 8pm Tuesday 17th April
In the Red Lion, Wellington. Now I had bothered to read this. I can see a tough case to fight. Certainly, it's an idea that will spread further to toilets, extra parking, a visitor centre, picnic tables, etc. Bye donkey field.
It all relies on the fast food wagon. Has to be opened and shut by them. If they don't turn up, if it's a better day for the at the V Festival... If they go out of business because the rent after the first three years isn't sustainable, then we have a white elephant on our hands. A car park that can't be opened. Just like the demolished toilets.
Wrekin donkey field
I am assuming you are referring to the field which runs adjacent to the road, where cars generally park orderly, but at some times, do not?
If so: . this is a huge piece of land and will surely impact on the land in the immediate vicinity. Also, how will this be managed?
. Will there be car parking charges? (if so, this will indeed reduce vastly the number of people who walk and run around the Wrekin on a daily basis for health reasons. This cannot be right? )
. We should be encouraging people to get out and enjoy the countryside... I have this idea that if every school in Telford and Wrekin took their children up the Wrekin once a week, we would reduce the NHS Bill dramatically.
. When the masses have returned home, will it be left to the car racing fraternity, to 'burn rubber'? Of cordoned off, like some industrial unit? This surely will not enhance this naturally beautiful environment?
. Finally the environmental impact? Surely the ancient hedgerows which surround the field are protected by some law or other? This is pure criminal damage in my eyes.
. Admittedly, sometimes I do feel we need better parking facilities, but be a bit more imaginative with the existing car parking arrangements .... the Forest glen footprint is not currently used at all for example.... and the rocks alongside the edge of the car park could be replaced with smaller ones surely? The space they take up is ludicrous.
. Also please remember that for the majority of time, the Wrekin is a peaceful haven, with half a dozen cars present for 80% of the time. Be sensible planners.. protect your children's futures..
Thank you
