Open
Meeting of Wrekin Forest Partnership meeting 1st Feb 2010
Dear Phil,
I wasn’t surprised to find out that I and thusly the wrekinFriends.com website, its 300 members and several thousand readers has been removed from your and SWT’s mailing lists. However, I was surprised at the reasoning. May I again suggest that it is far better to be open and to be seen to be open; that it is far better to challenge dissent than to hide from it and that it is healthy to be held to account by members of the public. I have a saying, “in the absence of facts; lies, gossip, rumour and innuendo.” If you don’t give me facts, I’ll have to guess.
I request that you add me to the list of members of the public who receive copies of the minutes of the Wrekin Forest Partnership. My personal email address is xx@xxxx.com.
However, you may email the website directly, attaching the relevant documents and they will be added to the front page, automatically, without alteration. It would make sense to add this email address to your lists xx@xxxx.com You can then speak directly, without hindrance to 300 members and several thousand readers and lovers of The Hill.
I would also appreciate you sending me and/or the website copies of the recent feasibility study regarding the establishment of a shop on The Hill and/or the establishment of an information centre/car park on the donkey field.
I believe that you have also undertaken a survey of visitors to The Hill. I’d like a copy of this, too.
You mentioned that you are about to start another feasibility study concerning transport to and around The Hill. Would you send me and/or the website details of this.
You also mentioned at the meeting that there was a fund of £5,000 available for community projects around The Hill. I’d like to publicise this too on wrekinFriends.com.
I believe that you also have a copy of the map shown last night by UK Coal, detailing the bridleways, pathways, planning and landscaping after the surface mine has closed. I asked UK Coal last night for a copy of their presentation and this map. They said they’d send it, as yet it hasn’t arrived. I fear that they too will be unwilling to provide me/the website with these details. If you have a copy, would you send me this too.
Of course, if you are unable or unwilling to supply me with these documents and details, I will take it up with T&WC, who have to comply with Freedom of Information requests, my local councilor and my MP.
Yours faithfully,
